I began my career in psychology studying rats in a lab at Princeton University. My work with an animal model of eating disorders connected me with a team of researchers at Columbia University Medical Center who studied eating disorders in people, which I ultimately found a much more rewarding experience. My experience as a research assistant at the Columbia Center for Eating Disorders inspired me to pursue my doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, and I was fortunate enough to return there as a full-time psychologist after completing my doctorate. My husband's career brought us to Florida in 2016, where I initially served as Clinical Director of ViaMar Health, an eating disorders treatment center in West Palm Beach. In 2019, six months after my first daughter was born, I opened my private practice in Palm Beach Gardens. One pandemic and two more daughters later, I am still doing what I love: bringing together my scientific and clinical backgrounds to deliver high quality care in every therapy session, evaluation, and consultation.

My approach to psychotherapy is eclectic and integrative. I aim to meet my clients where they are and provide them with the tools, education, and support to help them get to where they want to be. I honor all faith traditions and work to create space in my therapeutic work for the integration of spirituality and religious practice.
I start every therapy relationship with a 90 minute diagnostic evaluation to get a 360 degree view of the person, both in terms of relevant history and current experiences. I also offer standalone evaluation services for those trying to make informed decisions about their mental healthcare.
Using my background and expertise in the assessment and treatment of eating disorders, I can offer guidance around issues such as level of care placement, treatment targets, and the appropriateness of various therapeutic interventions for those with eating-related issues.
My primary specialization is in the assessment and treatment of eating disorders. I work with individuals with any type of eating-related issue: restrictive eating, binge eating, purging behaviors, excessive exercise, body image struggles, etc. I am competent in the most evidence-based treatment approaches for eating disorders, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family-Based Treatment, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
As eating disorders tend to exist alongside a variety of other mental health concerns, I am highly skilled in working with comorbid conditions such as depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, and various personality disorders. My approach to all aspects of mental health is grounded in a deep appreciation for the integration of body, mind, and soul.
Seeing a loved one struggling with an eating disorder takes a significant toll on family members and loved ones. I offer specific support and guidance for those caring for individuals with eating disorders and related mental health issues. The eating disorder treatment world can be very hard to navigate, and I aim to simplify that process while also offering compassion and encouragement for the "heroes behind the heroes" working toward recovery.
